Of knights and castles

Isabel is much better now. Both kids are coughing a lot and Isabel still has that look of being poorly but she is well and truly on the mend. Matthew and I are both ill as is typical.

Isaac has mostly been playing with knights, castles and dragons. Oh and an over sized tank. I'm glad he's had things to play with as it's been a boring week for him as I've been on cuddle duty.

A funny old week

Littlest has been doing a lot of this...

She is officially a poorly girl as has had a temperature for several days - probably because of a virus. And now has an ear infection. All pretty miserable anyway but made worse because she point blank refuses to take any medicine. There is no reasoning, cajoling nor forcing. She has never taken medicine happily and being proper poorly isn't going to change that. The doctor would have prescribed antibiotics but as she won't take them there is no point. He was happy enough that she would get better with sleep and time though so I'm not worried - just a little weary of the sleep, shout, whimper cycle. She's drinking and sleeping and will get better in time.

Isaac has been very good at entertaining himself with the help of some Playmobil knights and his Lego. He's got a cough and is a little under the weather too though so today is hard all round.

We've been playing board games quite a lot. Pop to the Shops is a favourite for Isaac but Isabel even when she's well finds it a bit above her (although she always demands that she gets to play). We also like the Gruffalo rhyming game, which all of us can play and Pirate snakes and ladders.

Going out, staying in.

The weather has been foul recently and with one thing and another there's not been a lot of outside time but we grabbed a couple of hours in the park on Sunday to play in the mud and jump in puddles. Coats were on, coats were off, coats were superhero capes and on back to front. It was that sort of day.

There's been a lot of Lego building. And there are bits of Lego strewn around the house.

Beds have been made....

For everyone!

A Mishmash

I am technologically challenged at the moment. I have access to several gadgets but rarely the right combinations of time and picture-taking-thing to be able to put together a blog post. I managed to plug everything into the laptop over the weekend though so a few iPod photos to catch up on - rainy play, shopping trips and Christmas amongst them.

Merry Christmas

The dog knows how to make himself comfortable...

It's been a very Lego Christmas.

A nutritious breakfast.... err ok it IS Christmas!

A BABY! She was very very excited.

And a Princess and the Pea.

Ritual humiliation.

Lunch!

Close company.

I do like sprouts. Honest I do. She didn't need to make me eat them.

The crackers had a penguin race theme and we all got a penguin to race. Much fun!

And he got to get his hands on my brother's Leatherman.
