The boy, the bear and the ball

Any time of the day the cry of "'scream 'scream" can go up - I draw the line at breakfast but as it's been nice weather he's been having ice cream at all times of the day. Due to the dripping that goes with it though it needs to be outside if possible so he wanders around trying to pick the flowers from next door's garden through the fence...

We've got a mass of butterflies in the garden at the moment.

And a dog who charges up and down playing with his ball.

We've also got a lot of spiders...

When he's finally given up chasing the ball we have lounging bear.

And then the post dinner ball play. This involves burying his ball in his bed and then removing the bedding from his blue bucket to bury the ball some more.

It's very entertaining for all involved!

Where has the week gone?

I can't believe it's Wednesday already. We don't seem to have done much this week and yet the week is flying by.

The dog really hasn't 'got' train sets yet!

The weather's been poor again but we had enough brightness the other morning to get some lovely shadows on the wall.

And Isaac could watch the digger in the park from the comfort of his chair.

Before having a bit of bonding with his dog.

Or is that annoying his dog...

Park & Train

Today has been the first nice weather for quite some time so we wandered into town for a few errands and then hung out in the park for a bit. Isaac did his civic duty by picking up more litter and putting it in the bin.

Before being slightly less civic and using the war memorial as a climbing frame. Its in a little fenced off area with a gate and he loves opening and closing the gate and then sitting on the 'step'.

The new tennis courts are being well used and we spent quite a while walking round and watching. I did look at the fence and think, 'he could climb that' and sure enough a couple of minutes later he had the same thought but only got up one rung.

And then this evening we opened his present from our friends Kev & Ruth.

As soon as he saw the trains he said, 'wow'. And he kept saying wow with each new bit of the train.

This is how Matthew built it.

And then this is how I rebuilt it...

We regret to announce the the 17.52 from the dining room has been cancelled due to a dog on the line.... I fear this may be a problem!

A New Kitchen

It'll be Isaac's second birthday before very long and so as not to overwhelm him on the day we're giving him presents gradually. The first one is his present from us which is toy kitchen from a company called Wooden Choice. It's a great size for him and is nice and compact. The wood is very soft as it's untreated pine so it will get bashed about a fair bit but I think it'll do us just fine.

He's been playing with is lots, making pasta and washing his hands mostly.

We had to to have the obligatory dog in a box shot but it was a bit high for him to get himself in it on his own so he had help...

He usually likes being in boxes but this was a tight fit and he got out as soon as possible.

Isaac's beginning to be interested in getting dressed and wanted all his clothes off so he could wear his swim nappy. I wasn't keen on the idea and as it was too small to go over his jean put it on his head instead. He was very happy with this!

Lots of just hanging around

A bit of wrapping...

A bit of Daddy's lunch (note the dog in place for anything that drops on the floor).

A bit of washing up...

A bit of dog training...

Oops no treats left.

Helping with dinner!

Getting the measure of things

You can spend lots of money on toys designed for children or you can just give them a tape measure...

Climbing and sticking

A bit of barefoot adventuring in the garden this morning.

And then some sticking this evening...
