Feeding the birds

The kids love the jobs that they don't have to do and feeding the birds at my mum's is a big treat. There is much upset if she dares to do it on her own. Just before heading out to not pick strawberries (the weather has been so terrible that the pick your own places aren't ready to pick yet) both kids donned wellies and went to help. Isabel wore her bike helmet too for some reason.

This afternoon Iz and I went for a trawl around the charity shops in Hunstanton and she had a lovely time mooching around jumping off steps and picking leaves off hedges and generally taking a loooong time to walk not very far. The sun was shining though so I didn't mind too much. We came across some great yarn bombing which I took some photos of and Isabel took photos of.

This was her picture of me - I guess this is about right from her height.

She managed to find a small teapot, a tiny doll and a small handbag in the shops and we found a big toy telescope for Isaac - I think the whole lot cost me £1.35.

Isaac is still unsure about a pedal bike - after zooming around on the balance bike he's rather reticent about pedals. He managed to get it going today without a push and happily went round to the park on the estate but then he wanted to come back on the little bike instead and whilst pushing Isabel on this one I found out the hard way that pedaling backwards makes it brake - she had to put her feet on the crossbar in the end as we weren't getting very far.

  1. Wow what lovely yarn bombing! Freddie felt unsure about pedals when we went from his balance bike to a proper bike, but it didn't take him too long.
