Cheesy bread and a wet dog.

We're still very hot here and after a busy morning Isaac crashed out for a long nap and then asked to do some art. He wasn't interested in the felt pens and wanted paint so off we went with the yellow paint.

But after a little while he wanted some white too. Although he wasn't very impressed with it on the white paper.

We made some 'tear and share' bread. Well the bread maker did most of the hard work but we rolled it out and spread grated cheese on it (a mix of cheddar and parmesan).

Before cutting it up into rounds and making a pretty wheel which is then easy to tear once it's cooked.

While it was proving we tried to cool everyone down in the garden.

For a dog who loves to swim and jump in puddles he's never too keen on the paddling pool and needed a lot of encouragement (read biscuits) to get him to go in.

This is what happens when you don't run fast enough when he gets out and shakes.

In the end he got a good soak but I'm not sure it cooled anyone down with all the chasing that was involved.

In this weather the bread had risen within half an hour and was ready for the oven.

We had it with lots of salad and some mozzarella.
